Since its creation, Gemology has had a very specific aim

To develop premium-quality, effective, technical products based on the use of precious minerals, with respect for consumers.

Plastic?
We limit it. Our packs are refillable.

Paper waste?
We banish it.

Controversial ingredients?
We do away with them.

ethical & ecoresponsible cosmetics

Strict specifications in line with today's aspirations: paraben-free, propylene glycol-free, ethanol-free, gluten-free, lactose-free...

Increasingly ethical consumption, with a commitment to preserving our planet. Glass jars and bottles, FSC-standard recyclable packaging. No more leaflets or paper brochures. A real and sincere commitment to eco-responsibility for many years.

The origin of minerals in our cosmetics

We use minerals as ingredients in our cosmetics, and their benefits are well established, but where do these minerals come from?

origine mineraux gemology

We use more than 20 different natural minerals to develop and manufacture Gemology products.

The geographical origin of these minerals may vary, but we always insist on traceability and long-term management of our supplies.

Some minerals come from nearby regions, such as Peridot, which is found in large quantities in the Massif Central in France.

Others come from more distant regions, such as Tourmaline, Sapphire and Opal from Brazil, or Jade from Asia.

We source the raw natural stones and extract them in liquid form in France, using our own process.

Approvisionnement minéraux Gemology

Natural and ethical raw materials?

These raw materials are natural, but are they ethically responsible?

éthique Gemology

On the one hand, are these minerals ethically produced?

Gemology has always made a point of ensuring that its suppliers extract minerals under ethical conditions, without dubious financing or child labor.

On the other hand, is there any risk to nature from the use of minerals in cosmetics?

Gemology uses reasoned quantities of minerals. The quantities used in cosmetics are anecdotal compared to other uses (industrial, jewelry, etc.).

The use of minerals

How does the use of these minerals fit in with Gemology's CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) approach?

RSE Gemology

For several years now, Gemology has been committed to a CSR policy that does not involve greenwashing, but takes a firm, step-by-step approach. Reducing plastic packaging in favor of glass, recycled and recyclable plastic, sugar cane, eliminating unnecessary wedges and leaflets, developing new natural and environmentally-friendly formulas...

For example, our new concentrates and serums are 99.5% natural in origin.

In this context, the use of natural resources must also be carried out, as we have just seen, within an ethical and reasoned framework.

Minerals are the only inexhaustible resource on earth and our source of inspiration.
